I won’t try for fake evenhandedness here: most of the venom I see is coming from supporters of Mr. Obama, who want their hero or nobody. I’m not the first to point out that the Obama campaign seems dangerously close to becoming a cult of personality. We’ve already had that from the Bush administration - remember Operation Flight Suit? We really don’t want to go there again. I don't usually agree with Paul Krugman, and I am a Barack Obama supporter, but I think he makes a good point (though, I don't agree with everything he says in this column, not enough time to go over it all). If Barack does lose the primary, which I hope he won't, I'll gladly back Hillary, and you should too. Because John McCain will be a scary, scary president, and because I think that Hillary is capable of being a good president. The hate campaign against her won't help us beat the Republican party in the end; it's only breaking up the democratic base. Extremities are key ingredients in collapses.
Update:
Stanley Fish has some interesting things to speak on about this topic, as well.
