I'm also fond of The Lambi Fund, which, unlike many NGOs that operate in Haiti, has actual Haitians on its board of directors and executive staff. (For that matter, I believe Fonkoze does also).
All that being said, "compassion fatigue" is a real thing - when there's a headline-grabbing disaster in one part of the world, donations flow into that region and away from other areas.
So, it's also a good time to support the local charity of your choice, since they'll probably have a drop in donations in the next few weeks.
