Job interviews are such horseshit. The types of questions they ask would never let them know what kind of person the interviewee is. Who cares how they'd handle a poor team player? Just sit down and have a conversation. Ask them about their life, their friends and family, joke around. Reading from a sheet full of benign questions just makes people ( Read more... )

Interesting. I was interning at a dentist's office over the summer, and about half way through, they hired a new hygienist. I was really confused as to why the dentist told me he wanted me to be at her interview. But then he told me the best way to interview someone is to just take the whole staff (or who she would be working with) out to lunch and just talk. Just see if they get along and have fun and are competent. And it worked! She got hired, and I got lunch. Win, win. I agree with you! (And its lame in an interview when everyone says their biggest flaw, and then turns it into some source of infinite potential to grow.)
