Hi, This is probably not for publication but I run a website on Victorian Turkish baths which includes a picture of the Oxford Street Turkish baths at:
http://www.victorianturkishbath.org/2HISTORY/AtoZHist/Hammam/pix/Sydney_w.htm
(all in one line). But I'm unable to get hold of a copy of the Clive Faro book in the UK and wondered if you could let me know what he says about these baths. The earliest date we have for them is c.1863 so I am specially interested in the date 1870 which you mention. Is this also where the homoerotic occurrences are documented? Of course, any info you send will be credited to you if used on the website under your own name, or your pseudonym if preferred. Best wishes and thanks for any help you can offer.
