- My favourite kind of television is the kind where something catches me off-guard. Because: I watch a lot of television and though in an incredibly dorky way I also love knowing - or figuring out early - what will happen, more than anything I love being surprised.
I love it when I miss something, or there's a thread that makes me basically want to watch the whole season so far again. Or when what I assume to be a ho-hum two-part episode suddenly throws a curve ball that has been staring at me in the face for thw whole of the two episodes. Because of course Amy's a ganger.
- The Doctor is such a jerk. The Doctors. I knew they'd pull a switcheroo, because of course they would. And the Doctor doesn't tell Amy and Rory the facts because he needs to keep the uncertain things that he cannot trust/understand close to his chest; he needs to protect his kids. (See also: he never mentions it, but of course he knows there's something wrong with a seven-year-old girl living basically alone in a big, scary house, and he won't tell an adult Amy that until there's reason to. Especially because he doesn't ever really see Amy as anything other than a seven-year-old.)
Coincidentally, Matt Smith is amazing and there should always be two of them. He should also always flirt with himself.
Aaaaaand now the Doctor knows Amy's seen him die. Because she told him when she thought that he was PlasticDoctor. And it's just another thing he's going to file away for later.
- Oh Rory. You wonderful, pretty idiot. ILU.
- Aw, tiny boy and his dad(s). I really am stupidly easy for stuff like that.
- Amy, it's going to be ok. The Doctor's coming for you. And more importantly, Rory's coming for you. And wherever you are, you always know he's coming for you. Always.
- I don't know what will happen with the baby - other than what we saw happen already, with the bb regeneration and the picture of Amy with the chid. Which means, chillingly, that Amy might stay captured for years. It will also mean a terrific acting opportunity for Karen Gillan, depending on what material she's given, because either way: Amy will have changed because of the experience. Not the kidnapping and most of the capture, because she doesn't remember that and was living as ganger!Amy for most of that, but what happens next and what happens after. She'll be a mum.
And because this is a new thing for DW, I am a little bit excited.
- Did anybody else get trippy flashbacks to Scully being pregnant / giving birth on The X-Files?
- DUDES, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO FOR THE HIATUS? I KNOW THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN UNTIL NEXT WEEK, BUT. I NEED MY DOCTOR WHO.
doctor who (bad case of loving who)
