The Pack and Nightmares

In preparation to watch one of my all-time favorite episodes, Prophecy Girl, I decided to watch these two. And maybe I'll watch Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind.

The Pack really shows why Buffy caught my fancy. I mean, what other shows would have the principal, a sympathetic character, eaten by students? And the scene was so very disturbing, too! ( Read more... )

You know? Nightmares was the only episode in Season 1 that I didn't see until I got the DVD set. I honestly think it was worth the wait, though, since I used to be obsessed with reading fanfic (oh, geez, that was a long time ago!) about Buffy being a vampire in some way or another, heh.

&Prophecy Girl was AWESOME, but I think Angel was and will remain my favorite episode ever (first Buffy eppy I ever saw).

&my tangent is done for the moment (you're lucky; I was going to go on talking about the ep where Buffy was really schizophrenic in LA and dreamed up everything).

Done now.

And I thought that Angel was the weakest of the Season 1 episodes when it first aired. I'm still of that opinion, but I found it was better this time than it was the last time I watched it.

You mean Normal Again? Here's what I had to say about it:

Well, Angel was my first Buffy episode and it got me hooked, so I suppose that's good. Then again, I was 12 or 13 when I saw it, so I just thought the whole high school scene was cool ;)

Yep, I mean Normal Again. I started losing track of episode names after season 3 (and never learned the Angel episode names at all).

Being the psycho that I am, I really thought that episode would have made a neat full season story (where you get these glimpses of her real life throughout the season). I would have been content with finding out on the series finale that it had all been the dillusions of a schizophrenic Buffy (although I have a feeling most other fans wouldn't, heh). Wasn't there a show like that in the '80's (late 80's) where on the series finale viewers discover that the entire show was someone's dream? (I believe that was VH1's I love the 80's Strikes Back "What the f*ck" moment of 1988 or something)
