I cracked open my Angel Season 1 DVDs. I decided to watch the first episode, since I hadn't seen it for a very long time.

Hi Bob! Slacker that I am, I've only gotten around to friending you now. I might've never watched Angel except for a VCR goof: I'd forgotten to set our cranky old VCR to tape BtVS that night, so I set it recording myself when the episode started (I don't remember if the BtVS season 4 premiere and the Angel premiere were on the same night. Anyway.). And then I forgot to stop the tape, so it caught half of "City of".

So the Mrs. and I watched the tape later, and when Angel started she said, "Want to watch this?" And I said, "Eh. I'm not expecting much from it; it's a spinoff. But what the hell."

Well, it blew my low expectations to pieces... and when the tape cut off right in the middle of the parking garage scene we both cried "Augh!" like a couple of Peanuts kids. We didn't get to see the end until months later.
