heh, my mom's totally cool with paying for my flight and all, i just have to talk to my manager to see if i can get the time off work. so many people are going on vacations it may be tough, but at the same time we just hired five new people and we're over labor and beth's trying to cut hours. so we'll see.

I was just thinking yesterday (or was it today?) about how things really do happen in the order they have to so you don't do things before you're ready, and so you won't be held back from other things when it's time.

I know exactly how you feel. Most of my friends are busy with other things and I'm of course too passive to confront anyone. But that is, I'm sure, freeing me, like you, up to find the next step in my life.

yeah, they refer to it as "synchronicity" (although i'm not sure i spelled that right) in one of the celestine prophecy books. about how things happen at the right times to allow you the opportunity to learn what you're supposed to before moving on.

and i've actually been feeling the same exact way about leaving. i sort of found a way out but not too far away just in case i feel like its the wrong choice. but either way, maybe leaving some place you aren't happy is the best thing. guess you never know until you try.

very true, and i learned that when i left new york.. i wasn't happy, and i was petrified of being out on my own.. but i figured it was worth a shot. and i've made it.. like, it's not always peaches and cream and it's tough having responsibilities without my mom to help me out with them.. and yeah now there's this whole thing with my friends.. but i did it. and since i know i can, i'm pretty free to go wherever i want to go and do what i need to do to get where i want to be. south florida is a melting pot for so many different kinds of people, but the thing is most of us are just passing through on our way to the next phase in our lives. none of us are from south florida, but really none of us plan on settling here either. laura's leaving at the end of next month, pixie's leaving at the end of june, i think julia might be leaving too at some point, i may leave at the end of july.. we're all stops on each other's journeys. it's cool and it sucks at the same time

originally i was going to go to school in california in january but i've decided to stay close and live in manhattan instead. a girl i know from work is going to the same school i plan on going to so we're gonna get an apartment in the city. its still new york, but my goal is pretty much just to get away from long island for a while. i figure that one of two things can happen. i can either hate where i move and appreciate long island more, or absolutely love it and stay there. either way, its worth a shot.

but yeah i can probably work out a trip down there at the end of may some time for a few days. i just have to get it all cleared with work and all that.
