This article makes me really really happy. Someone actually listened to the lyrics to one of my songs and... understood them! (And an unpopular song at that

Oh, I think he knew this about me in 2001 when that song came out. This article probably wouldn't surprise him. Our split was simply a matter of him becoming more conservative and me not wanting to the less-conservative random bits of my catalog to suit.
If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that he regrets asking for those changes now. It didn't really benefit either one of us in the end, but I think it may have hurt him more because his livelihood depends on the sales/ the scene, and our rift had some echoes that made a small percentage of his loyal customers leave for good. For me personally, the resulting fewer sales just mean I can't buy as much new recording equipment as maybe I was in 2003. And really, Duchess 33's sales were right around the average of my other Cosmicity albums (not as high as EP42 sales were, perhaps, but certainly as good as Renaissance or The Binary Language of Love), so it hasn't hit me that hard at all.
Seriously? And, to think, ALL this time... I thought this song was about me being relatively thin around that point in time. "The Perfect Shape"?? You're telling me this now?!? Bummer. Gotta take that one off the old Myspace page.
Kidding. (especially since I don't have a Myspace page...) I just was looking for a reason to post something. Not like there'd be ANY reason to communicate with you in the next 25 1/2 hours other than than to talk about myself in relation to your songs. Hmmm...
Well, I suppose I'll go to bed and see if I'm inspired at all to write to you tomorrow. Can't imagine why I would, but I suppose I wouldn't rule it out...
