Are you freaking kidding? That rules! I love it. Remind those of us who are in need of such things when voting starts, and I'll flood the ballot box as much as I'm allowed to.
"DM, I'd like to reintroduce you to the joy of oontz oontz music. Oontz oontz music, perhaps you remember DM...? It's been awhile, I realize, but hopefully you remember each other. Don't be strangers, OK?"
I'd send it to you, but it is now the property of Mute Records per the agreement for the contest. Funny, right? Finally got a song with Mute. Hehe.
But seriously, assuming that I don't get past the first round of the contest (I'm sure I won't - see my own friends list people already smacking it in this thread), I'll be sending it out to anyone who signs up for my mailing list, so I'll send it over to ya then.
It's funny, I actually think the songwriting is there on "Peace". That one and "Perfect" are the two I would have chosen to cover anyway 'cause, IMHO, it's just the programming/recording that failed them. I think the chorus is actually pretty catchy.
The rest of the album, well... I don't like much of the rest of the album, unfortunately.
hunh, "peace" is the only song on the album i rush to skip. the chorus is catchy, but the problem with the song is that it's 2/3 chorus (which is actually a problem with the album as a whole).
it is an album with really odd production, though. lots of strange decisions made. both "hole to feed" and "fragile tension" have no ending. actually, it's not even so much that they forget to end, but that they forget to keep going...or never get completely going. i want to like "fragile tension" a lot, but it has no dynamics.
"perfect" i do not understand the lyrics to at all - there's the "it could be perfect" stuff, and there's the legal parts. there's no connection between the two. that being said, i love the song from the "i didn't shoot, i didn't pull the trigger" line to the end.
beyond that, i actually DO like the album. :) go figure. it's the first DM album i had to listen to a handful of times before i got it, which i think is a good thing.
