I noticed that the guy that works third shift at our treatment plant had a burn on the back of his hand just like people in the movie Fight Club. I asked him if Tyler Durgen gave that too him. He said no, he burned it on an aquarium lamp. I told him if anybody else asked him about the burn, he should say that the first rule is he can't talk about

well, I swear to god it looked just like a fight club chemical burn and how often do you see one of those?!

The reason that i like fight club so much is that it is movie about twisted enlightenment. Even if it's twisted and sick, I love anything related to the subject of enlightenment.

On top of that I love charismatic characters like Tyler Durgen, who can lead groups of people into doing things that they would never have the guts or discipline to do themselves, but really enjoy when they allow themselves to be led. Incidentally that's also why Quinton is my favorite character in Thieves and Kings.

He could also be seen as the devil, since he is coaxing them into doing bad things, and getting them to enjoy it. remember, it all ends in destruction! it can't last!

Well, I'd have to imagine that both angels and devils are enlightened, or at least on the path to it, so as twisted as their intentions may be (the devil to ruin everyone, the angels to help everyone) they both lead to the same place: freedom.

Why do the devils do it? Freedom. Why do the angels do it? Freedom.
