Last fall and winter my lovely spouse talked me into taking dance lessons. I took them for 6 months, learning lead. It is difficult for me. Every month, the instructor has a big dance party at the ballroom and, because I'm such a novice, my spouse found it more enjoyable to dance with other people who were more experienced, leaving me on the ( Read more... )

Off hand, I would say, find yourself another dance partner so you can at least enjoy the dancing too. After all if your partner can find someone else to dance with, why can't you too?

Well then... I'd say stick to your guns and tell her the whole point was to be together and she needs to be more patient until you catch up to her level or... say f*ck it and stay home and do something you really wanna do that's what I do when Elz feels the need to be out with his drinking buddies.

I think it might make her feel special to be "advanced". Why dont you make a deal with her. She can go to the big parties and dance with other people... but the lessons she has to help you improve.
