I need you, YES YOU! to provide me, YES ME! with ice-cream recipes, sorbet recipes, and other frozen desert recipes because I have an ice-cream machine that is itching to be used. Like if it doesn't make any ice cream soon, I may never live my dream of becoming a fat man named Unther. You certainly wouldn't want that ( Read more... )

I do like pomegranates and they are in season now so it's totally a good idea.

I sort of failed with my first attempt because I didn't let the custard thicken or get cold enough first but now I'm ready to go.

I used to have a thing for it, but then I stopped using this journal and now I've forgotten how to think. :P

hector and i have the same fantastic ice cream book from crate and barrel. there are so many great recipes in there though, i wonder if we could narrow it down to a flavor before i start transcribing...

i had fun experimenting with different types of frozen desserts with mine too, like using a base of coconut milk, yogurt, soy milk or mashed avocado instead of or in addition to milk. and there was the time i tried to make mint chip, which i'm still not sure how they do, because chocolate naturally takes heat to release the flavor, i learned. i guess they use magic flavor crystals. sad.

Is it a Crate and Barrel book then? I've been looking for a recipe book online and most seem kind of "eh." It's good to know something exists.

It's always sad when flavor crystals are involved.

it is a crate and barrel book, but i'm not seeing it on their site anymore, or on amazon. i have to remind myself of the title though, it's just not coming up in a search on "ice cream"
