There are children playing T ball in my alley way which I have a view of from living room/workspace. i know what you mean... watching my kids play, i feel like that sometimes. plus, i'm pretty old-fashioned when it comes to a lot of things so, like my brother and i did, my kids spend a lot of time playing and using their imaginations, rather than staring at the boob tube. kids today make me sick; all plugged in and zombied out. parents don't think about the fact that these kids will be our future.

Simple innocence is not gone. It's only forgotten. If you remember, you get it back, just for that instant.

My daughter is not growing up in front of the television. If she wants to plug in to something, it'll be a mixer, or a network, just like her dear old (crazy) dad.

(tangent time)
I was raised around computers and most of the crap kids are playing with now, the difference was that I wasn't taught that these things were toys, I was taught that they were tools, just like hammers and power saws.

You can play with tools, but you can't work with toys.

Anyhow, all this is to say that the simplicty and innocence you're after is still there, just as it always was. The difference now is that you notice it, instead of just being there and not caring.
