I've found that as I get older, new crushes are much more intense , but do not last for as long as they did in my youth. Whilst I have new crushes in series now, nothing lasts for more than a year or so, by which time I'm invariably crushing on someone or something else.
By contrast, the old, life-long crushes are still warm, snuggly blankets which I fall back on when I am between new crushes, and (for me) they're more comforting than stress-inducing.
Anything new that comes up for me aren't really ever crushes, not really. Like I'll think they are cute but it's not like I need to know so much about them, or see everything they've ever done. It's more of an appreciation of their good looks and not really a crush.
no i'm so far rather fickle and only go for intense fandom crushes for 2 to 4 years. At which point it becomes "caring" for the crush but not actually "being in love
( ... )
Oh, I don't know Meany my dear... Hiddles I believe would be a more interesting, more engaging, ultimately more satisfying life partner than the Cumberbatch.
in the short term - i would agree. But i doubt he'll stay for more than 7 years. He's a man on a mission. I'd bet money on the fact that he'll leave the children. He'd leave to go and do something very noble - but it would still be abandoning them. Because he's Leslie Howard. He's the sort who's going to actively go out and get himself killed in a war. Benedict Cumberbatch would go, but he wouldn't want to. Hiddles is too selfish - and he's so selfish to the point he doesnt realize he is. Cumberbatch is loyal and reliable, and would come back. It would be smarter to marry him. Cumberbatch I think would give up everything else for the family, Hiddleston might say he would - but he wouldnt.
