Wow, what an amazing variety of images! Fantastic work everyone, it is hard to know where to start looking there are so many beautiful icons!

birdienl: I adore the background and colouring on 3, it is such a cute icon! 17 has such a creative way of using up negative space: the texture matches the colours in the image perfectly. So pretty! The effect on 32 is really eye catching and draws focus brilliantly. Stunning set!

gribouille: Well, I have to say first off your cropping is exceptional. Very clever and creative! 7, 25 and 38 for example. I think 10 is my favourite of your batch. The muted colouring and composition are gorgeous! I also love the lighting on 39: the way there are shadows behind Margaret and the light hits her face. Really beautiful icons!

visionsbeyond: You colouring is so beautiful and the soft lighting on these is gorgeous! The negative space on 14 is really effective and brings focus to the subject perfectly. I just adore the kind of style you used for 27 and 29! The colouring and contrast on 44 are superb and the whole icon looks really ( ... )

14 was one of the toughest icons to make so thank you so much! I really really appreciate it! :D Ah coloring 29 was getting difficult so I decided to go with that style ;)
Thanks very much again! Thanks for picking favorites as well! :D

Thank you very much for all these compliments ! I must say I love close crops and I was afraid that it would seem too repetitive ^^;;;

Congrats on this lovely battle, ladies!

Faves per maker:

birdienl - 2 has the most fabulous crop! You can barely see her face and yet you get a real sense of emotion there! Great work with the stock in 17. It lends an elegance to the piece and really matches the tones in Cee's face as well!

gribouille - You've got quite a way with close crops, my dear! 7, 22, and 38 are the real standouts to me!

visionsbeyond - Excellent job of framing the image in 11! It's a charming and refined-looking piece! The contrast in 28 is simply marvelous, and 29 is probably my fave icon in this whole post cuz the composition and use of neg space is absolutely perfect! 45 has the most gorgeous yellow tones and magnificent text!

I had no idea what to do with 11 so I decided a frame would lift it a bit ;) I was having a hard time coloring 29 so I decided to experiment with a texture and stuff. Glad you liked it! Thank you so much for your comments and picking favorites! Much appreciated :D

T: Wow! You always surprise me with your icons because I love to see you evolve and you've done a great job! I love the b&w in the Little Dorrit icon. The coloring in 18, 31, 34 and 35 is beautiful! I adore what you did with 16, 17 as well as 20. Great job!

gribouille- You can do great close crops! Love what you did with the Edith icon! It took me a bit to realize what you did, but it's so unique and I can't keep my eyes off it! 10. 23, 37, 39 and 40 have lovely coloring! I do have to say hats off you to for the cropping! Great job!

Val: Love what you did with the Little Dorrit icon! So creative itself as well as with 29. Your batch has some beautiful coloring especially 26, 29, 44 & 45 (OMG on 45! That one is just love). I really love the coloring in 44! Great use of negative space in both 14 & 27.

The image in 19 was probably the toughest of the batch but you`ve done such a lovely job! Nice use of text in 33! Love your set and all your icons :D

(Ugh, Livejournal just ate my comment, now I have to retype it....)

Thanks very much for your compliments! I knew immediately which texture I wanted to use when I saw the cap for 20. It just sometimes happens, right?! 19 was indeed a difficult image, but the interesting background surely helps. Also, isn't it funny how on your Jane Eyre 2011 cap, you focused on Rochester, while gribouille focused on Jane and I made an icon of the pair? Without knowing who we were iconing 'against' we complemented each other nicely!

Of your icons, I really love the vibrant colouring of 15 and the gorgeous vintage look of 27 and 29. My favourite of your icons is 45, it's really great what you did with that cap!
