Well, for all DMC is very flawed, doesn't live up to its predecessor and throws a bunch of character out of the window, it was Shakespeare compared to how AWE is shaping up.

It's just... ARGH! I didn't feel like I had to completely disown DMC, I just preferred CotBP-only continuity with my own back stories for the characters (especially Jack). AWE is a merchandise-burning kind of bad. Like, I wouldn't want people to think I like that when I say pirates.

Worse than the Star Wars prequels, methinks. Ugh.

LOL ...

I won't pass judgment until I see it. But I reserve the right to do preemptive bitching, especially as it involves what happens to Will. (And I know a lot of people will be feeling the same here about Norrie.)

So very much word. My feelings about DMC were ambiguous. AWE I just HATE.

Personally, I felt that AWE redeemed a lot of DMC for me--they're really one looooong movie--but I definitely view the second two as disconnected from the first (like Firefly and Serenity). I like both stories on their own, but I can't quite get from here to there.

I found DMC more boring than infuriating, though.

I too liked AWE. And the more time I have to think on DMC, the less sure I am *what* I feel about it. I still don't like it very much, that's all I can pinpoint.
