Just some things I thought about last night after trolling tumblr because my brain is weird and likes to give me sad Cas feels in the middle of the night. This is INCREDIBLY LONG.

I don't think I have much to add. You summarized my thoughts perfectly.
If they care so much about family, why neither of them has even mentioned Adam? If Dean should have felt guilty about anything in that episode with Jo (don't remember the name) it should have been about choosing Sam and leaving Adam in hell.
"You're like a brother to me..." bleh. Lies. I think all of Dean's betrayal towards Cas would have hurt me less if he would have saved himself the lies.
"I almost (die) did".. Never. That never happened. Period.
Oh, and Sam also said "I would die for him".
"We were family once"... Lies lies lies and more lies. Because you have never treated family the way you treated Cas, Dean. We have seen you with Sam, Bobby and John.
Ok, Im just repeating the same things you said. So, again. THIS. ALL OF IT.

In S05 when Cas loses his powers and was stuck in the hospital, I disliked Bobby's reluctance to wire him money. FFS that angel took on 6 others who were still connected to heaven to give Sam & Dean the chance to stop Zacharia, and you can't spare some cash?
Time and time again it seems as if Dean likes having an angel up his sleeve just as a safety net and doesn't care about Castiel as a person at all. Now I see why 2014 Dean let Cas be degraded to a pill popping sex maniac. Ugh every single angel apart from Castiel have treated them like trash and still the guys were too selfish and stupid to appreciate him.

Yea, I agree. Those moments bothered me too. It's so upsetting when you think about how mistreated he was. I'm sure if we picked out every instance he was treated crappily we would have a short novel :/ poor angel
