Spoilery Thoughts
Just some thoughts:
So because I'm an overly analytical, nit picky Virgo I have stupid irrational fandom feels sometime.
Like with some fandom theories going around right now? I don't get it.lol I feel like some people have on permanent fan fiction goggles and see everything through a filter or something lol Like 3 seasons I've been in fandom and usually the theories that are most popular among tumblr and really rumor-ish are 7 out of 10 times pretty far off from what actually happens. Which is OK. Nothing wrong with speculating and being wrong sometimes. But every now and then I just don't get where some people get the ideas in the first place, I guess? lol Maybe I'm just boring and I tend to look at things more black and white and just try to stick with basic ideas.
Like some people still holding on the vessel theory even after what we know. I don't get it. People were racing to say Dean was smiting people in 8.02 and that's what the flashing was, when if you looked a little harder you could see it was a bowl sparking. I mean with the new spoilers about Cas I don't see how this would still work.
I dunno.
And some people surmising Cas' new power of appearing in people's head is the equivalent of body swapping. I see it as possibly being more of a mental astral projection. Like, that's pretty common in movies/books/tv..etc..but some people are seeing this as one sided body swapping implying Cas is some how taking over Dean's body. Or even that Cas will actually switch Sam and Dean in to each OTHER's bodies from some reason and I just really don't see how people got that from such a vague spoiler. Especially since in the context of the ep it seems (they start off together I think) Dean is the one trapped in the cartoon verse by himself and Sam and Dean are working together to figure things out. And someone is apparently making people crazy or making people see things or something, so I just figured Cas' ability would relate to dealing with the case. I mean it's supposed to be a bizarre, funny ep so anything could happen and Cas in Dean (heh) would be super hilarious, so I dunno.
And who knows how that ability might come in handy in future eps, hmm. Also kind of refutes that Cas gets out of purgatory because he 'rips out his grace' and is a human now. But people are probably still holding on to that too. lol
BTW I'm not saying anything is impossible. Anything can happen, it's SPN and some of these eps are supposed to be crazy/weird/surprising. I'm not ruling anything out. I'm just saying for me some things seems less likely to be the case than others. But who knows. Again, I'm usually way off and wrong myself most of the time lol Maybe like 1 in 5 times am I ever right about anything that ever happens on this show so hey..everything everyone else said could end up being true. I don't mind being wrong, which is good 'cause I usually am anyway lol It's always hard to really evaluate anything with such little information revealed. You never really know how stuff is gonna play out till it happens most of the time.
I'm more curious about who is gonna be the big bad, who is manipulating Cas and how does his new 'do good' mission interfere with Dean and Sam? And is Dean gonna stop being pouty and hanging with Benny? Where's that storyline going? What is actually the main plot for the season? Closing the gates of Hell?
I'm actually looking forward to this season, it's a weird feeling! Not too excited about the next couple of eps but I'm just so anxious over Cas, it's no surprise.
