The procrastination update...

I'm not the type that puts up something in his journal once a day, or even once a week. Still, a few things have gone right recently so I figured I'd lay them down.

(1) Another second job has happened and it's been going pretty well. Basically what I do is I'm a courier for an AV equipment company. People call them, rent projectors and such for their presentations, and I take the stuff out there (in a company car) to set it up and take it back down later. My two runs thus far have been in South Carolina, so much driving seems to be required of me. I can deal. After all, the years I've spent playing Magic and driving to Grand Prix and Qualifier tournaments all over the place make this new job pretty simple.

(2) The second job is something that could turn into a full-time job (which is why I took it to begin with) so that I can get out of where I am. I have my reasons for wanting to leave but the only one that made me actually take action is that favorite co-worker of mine that we've all heard about (haven't heard about her? read the first 10 or so entries, though I'd recommend you not, personally). Guess what? She just got hired at a place in RTP and will be gone in a matter of weeks. Now, if job #2 threatens to become job #1, what do I do? My primary reason for wanting to leave isn't a reason anymore. I'll have to meditate on this...

(3) Something I didn't share when I first got into it is the fact that last summer I joined Weight Watchers. I felt a bit silly doing it as I wasn't much overweight, and certainly not as much as their average new member. Still, my eating habits were atrocious and it was inevitable that I would simply get heavier as I got older. I needed structure, and they gave it to me. I went in at 204 lbs. and set my "goal" at 189 lbs. (your goal must be somewhere in the medically recommend weight range for people of your height). Once you meet your goal, you cannot go over your goal + 2 lbs. for six weeks. If you make that happen, you become a "lifetime" member and you stop paying, so long as you never go over the goal + 2 ceiling. Given these rules, I naturally set my goal at the highest possible weight so that I could stop paying sooner. Unless I manage to screw things up I'll be doing it for free in six weeks, so let's all take bets on whether or not I can do it.

(4) My first housewarming is approaching fast. I'm gonna cram a fire-code-illegal number of people into my apartment on Friday night and give them all liquor, beer, pizza, and chicken. There's a lot of different types of people coming. It should be entertaining.

(5) There's still more but I'll save that for another time, mainly because I'm not sure how sensitive that information is. ph34r not, you'll get the goods eventually.
