The week of the Sadie Hawkins Dance has arrived! Last time there was a party at the school gym - Hallowe’en night - Vernon Spock and Derek Caldwin rearranged each others’ faces, Mei Ling threw a fit, and most concerned had a rather miserable time. Surely things can only get better this time around… right?
There’s still opportunity for those girls who haven’t yet chosen their dates to take their pick of those guys who are still available, but not all of these partnerships are destined to be matches made in heaven. On the other hand, there’s every chance a previously unsuspecting pair will come to realise their roles as star-crossed lovers tonight (even if it’s not the date they initially turn up with!). And there’s bound to be plenty of secrets that come spilling out, especially as the drink begins to flow - let’s just hope that when Principal Clark decided to open the dance up to the whole community he had a plan in mind to ensure that there’s no underage drinking...
Elsewise, Doctor Berkland is going to need to come to terms with his son’s latest misadventure, one that’s a hell of a lot more serious than anything he’s done before - but will the Doc’s reaction actually be far different than everyone expects? Is Tae Wen about to lose two members of staff in Vernon and Aspen after their involvement in the séance farce? Will an increasingly beleaguered Sheriff Barty be able to deal with the fallout of the incident, including his own poor treatment of Lyndon Greene and the fact he let a key participant in the affair (the hooded Barry Dawson) escape? Is there more to Dawson than meets the eye, and will Helena be the one to unravel it? Will anyone discover the horror that lurks in the house that once belonged to Todd Helper? And how long can Stu Appleman remain at large, especially being stalked by Felton Rast?
One thing’s for sure - it’s going to be another dramatic week in the Ridge…
NOTES: Apologies again for the lateness of this week’s entry. Also apologies for the hiatus in the thief storyline: this is Hook’s story and until I get the chance to speak to him I haven’t got the faintest idea where it’s headed. So, just to prevent throwing a spanner in the works of what he has planned, I’m purposefully steering clear. Don’t worry, it won’t be forgotten, I just hope everyone can be patient for another week…
Also, feel free to treat this week as similar to Hallowe’en week with regard to it being ‘fluid time’. Although the Dance officially happens on Friday characters can kick off from today if they so wish, while other characters can drop in on proceedings later if they have other storylines they’d like to address first. This is the perfect opportunity for interaction, especially with characters you may not have encountered before, and also for some lighter-hearted relations if that’s your bag, as discussed in this week’s Gazette forum. The dance is open to all, even if you haven’t got a date: you never know, you may hook up with someone on the night, right?)
Thanks all!
**ENTRY SEVEN is now completed.**
