My parents, Thom and Elizabeth Jacoby, are still in town. I don't know much about them. I left town when I was fifteen after all, and what 15 yr old really knows her parents? She's 51 and he's 55 (I'm 32). They both have dark blonde hair. We really only went to church on holidays when I was little. I wasn't abused That's pretty much all I can tell you. I've sent them postcards over the years, just letting them know I'm ok and where I've been, so they don't really know much about me, either.

My dad's around most of the time. He's a bit of a drunk, though, and in his mid-forties, working as a fireman. His name's Jared, and him and my mom have been married twenty years this coming February. Her name's Louise, which she thinks sucks for some reason, and she's the school nurse in her early forties. She's a pushover, especially when my dad loses his temper, but I love her, 'cause she's my mom.

Oh, and there's my younger brother. He's a nag, but we've always been pretty close. Ryan's fourteen going on fifteen, and it's been weird being in high school with him since it's his first year. It's just the four of us, though, and we manage to scrape by all right.

Handful of characters for Josh's life. Rachel Spears is his ex-wife, and the head coroner in Denver. She's 35 and married to Al Spears.

Al Spears is a psychiatrist, 36.

Pamela Barty is the daughter of Josh and Rachel. She's now 12, and lives with her mother.

Officer Brooks is of an undisclosed age, and he has seniority on the force. He is slow, physically, not mentally, and as such, is not really trusted by his fellow officers.

I have two parents, who I haven't written much on. My mom's abused by my dad, and my dad owns the bank here in Cougar Ridge.

I'd love to have someone to rebel against.
