Mei Chen said our souls are bound through mirrors, we're safe. I don't quite believe her, neither does Dash.

I stayed with him Thursday and Friday. We put each other through our paces, talked, tried to figure out how to capture this… thing. I can't believe how much I missed him. I thought he was out of my head. Of course, I carry the black queen I stole from him the day I left. I should know better.

Saturday, brunch. I need to open the shop, do things. Promise we'll continue later.

Stopped at the shop first. I told Dash about Vernon, the dance. He laughed, said I wasn't teaching him to dance. I was teaching him to respond, do what I want, initiating him. I have to stay away. Let him and Mei Ling stumble through normal teenage romance. Especially if I can keep Dash this time. Got a package ready to leave on his doorstep. Roger Corman's Haunted Palace, autographed by Vincent Price. Tuck a note inside, my best, heaviest paper, my best calligraphy. One thing I've always liked about myself, I have a fine hand when I want.
