augh there is not enough time in a day to do everything... luckily my residency is very understanding and expects new residents to be pretty much useless the first couple of weeks while we're still settling in and learning the routine lol. Wait, you still have to take classes?? I thought the residency was supposed to be just the clinical or research stuff...?

I don't have formal classes, but this residency is like 90% learning/studying/reading/looking-up-stuff-for-the-cases-you're-responsible-for XD;; Some (very few) residencies actually do formal class-type classes for the pathology residents, but this one is just sort of catch as catch can, mainly resident-driven in which we arrange our own rounds to discuss readings (required textbooks, papers/journals, etc.) This particular residency doesn't have a research requirement (though some do), just teaching (2nd year pathology labs, 4th years on their pathology rotations) and service (necropsy duty once or twice a week and then histopathology or follow up on testing status as necessary)... I was going to type up a comprehensive "handbook" on this rotation half to document it and half because they don't give you ANYTHING at all, not even orientation - you just sort of pick things up as you go along and ask the other residents or pathologists as things come up. =_=;;; Honestly, not exactly the most supportive environment, but you're supposed to ( ... )
