Mohinder Suresh || Heroes splice_of_life January 12 2012, 03:40:39 UTC
1 - Pretty much everything. Mohinder has no ability to lie well. He pretends he can be a super awesome spy but he isn't. I will be sure, when interacting with Sherlock, to give him clues in thoughts and flavor text. <3
2 - Mohinder should be very transparent.

Same as John and Jack above, I'll pepper Mohinder's posts to Mycroft with as much detail as possible and if observable someway, have at it ( ... )

Jack Harkness || Torchwood/Doctor Who cpt_51century January 12 2012, 03:48:06 UTC
1- Oh, the usual. When he's had sex, when he's not slept... Again, I'll give clues. Anything in the flavor text is up for grabs, bb.
2 - Well, he will conceal that he's immortal. Until he gets shot and sits up a moment later. Also he will reveal nothing about his past. He's missing two years of that past during which he is sure that he did VERY BAD THINGS. His team and all of the people he cares about never know him. Sherlock should have a hard time with him.
3- Jack is brave, stupidly brave. And usually a pretty happy guy. He's got the worst sort of hero complex. He also has trouble getting close to people. Here is a link to Jack's app, including personality.

...more important things to notice about Jack:

He dresses in period WWII British fashion. He wears suspenders and regulation trousers and an RAF coat. He carries a Webley revolver. His leather wristcuff is VERY technologically advanced and I think Sherlock might notice that from time to time.

He is American.

He is extremely other-person oriented. He can't die. But he does feel pain. He purposefully puts himself in danger so others don't have to be.

Jack has very old eyes.

He is extremely knowledgeable about very odd things, like brand names of items from 200 years ago.

He smells good. Whatever scent Sherlock likes the best (cologne wise I'm taking), Jack smells like it. He has pheromones, and sometimes it is helpful in seducing people.

Jack's memory is amazing.

He prefers to use paper. He likes very old fashioned things and he comes off as being a very old fashioned guy.

Noted! Thanks so much, that's wonderfully detailed. It will be very helpful, as will any prompting you can give in brackets or prose, like you said.

Alaric Saltzman - chaperoneI think Alaric might try to downplay the existence of the supernatural unless other people began openly discussing it. He's used to keeping quiet regarding vampires, werewolves and the like. His ring has magical resurrection properties and that isn't something he's going around telling everyone either. He lost the two women he's fallen in love with, and again, not exactly dropping the tragic life bomb on the first meeting. Things that he would be able to pick up on are the fact that Alaric likes his bourbon (and whiskey-hell, he's not exactly picky). He's protective of one Elena Gilbert (who is also present in-game), almost paternally so but not quite paternal enough to come off as her father. He's got his issues with certain people (Klaus, who is potentially apping into the game is the big one here). He knows too much about history to not have a degree in it, and enough knowledge of folklore and the supernatural to have more than a passing interest on the subject. He always wears his big gaudy ring. He's also got a ( ... )

Thanks so much. Could I ask, are there any other defining characteristics of vampirism in the series that I should know about? Some physical property on which Sherlock might pick up?

Or maybe more importantly, anything that's missing which would normally be found in vampire mythology? The sunlight bit, but can they also be reflected in mirrors and so on?

Feel free to just direct me to an application post or somesuch if you don't feel like typing it all out.

The Vampire Diaries characters have reflections. Religious symbols/imagery and holy water do not harm or deter them. Garlic has no effect on them other than smelling kind of bad. The only defining characteristics that I can think of outside of the super reflexes and speed would be the way that their eyes darken with blood and the veins around their eyes begin to bulge when they are about to attack/show their fangs. Sometimes if they are around blood this will happen unless they have good self-control. Apart from that there isn't much else.
