I was thinking about researching that statue again, whenever I can get to it.

Uh, well, I know most species by heart and I can read a lot of different demon languages, but... well, that statue--I've never seen anything like it. If it's a demon, it's not one I've ever heard of.

What? Really? Uh, I mean, yeah! I... probably could. I don't know how much good it'll do you here, 'cause it seems like a lot of stuff gets translated somehow, but I know Skilosh, Tuwarick, Davric, Yarbnie... some others. What do you wanna know them for?

Can't say I've ever heard of a Hellmouth, though it does sound like quite the fancy party, but I've got experience with the other three.

The one I've got the most experience with is vampires. They exist in my world. I kill them. Or I did, before I ended up here. Garlic and silver harm them, holy water and crosses don't do shit, and sunlight's your best bet as well. They're not really magical, though; more like viruses that infect humans.

Magic exists, though I can't say I've ever had direct experience with it, but I've heard about a ritual or two. [See: Deacon Frost and La Magra.]

Ohhh. Your vampires are apparently much different than mine. Pretty much all the Bram Stoker stuff works on mine.

Basics on... well, yeah, probably. I mean, it depends on what you mean by basics. But probably, yeah.

Well... both, I guess. [There's a beat before he adds:] I'm not a sorcerer. But I know there's spells anyone can do, but I also know that if there's enough magic in you, you can will it to work for you, too. But, uh, that can get dangerous.

Well... it's... Okay, well, it's a life-form that's separate from the animalia kingdom and usually evil 'cause it lacks a human soul. [He could go on--he could really go on, but he figures she wanted the basic definition and that's what he's got.]

Yup and yup! Demons are very living, very magical things. Though generally, you want them to stop doing both those things. They're kinda awful.

Oh, a Slayer? Well, it used to be that there was one girl in all the world that was infused with all the powers needed to fight the vampyres and the forces of darkness. But just a few months ago, this particular chosen one had her lesbian witch friend disperse that power to every girl who could possibly be a Slayer. So now there's thousands of them out there! [Probably more information than he wanted...]
