Shiny new thing

My reaction to the overabundance of overtime and fatigue was, apparently, to spend way too much money. I bought a KindleSeems to be a device that inspires mixed reactions. A lot of the negative ones seem to be based on people preferring the aesthetics of physical books, or the misperception that it has an LCD screen and accompanying glare/eye ( Read more... )

I do nearly all of my reading on my smartphone.

I much prefer the feel, look, and general experience of actual physical books; but there's just something about the convenience of being able to carry several dozen texts with me in a single, easily accessible, hand-held, extremely convenient package.

I chose the Kindle for the non-LCD display - I read from a screen all day, so hopefully the electronic paper thingy will be easier on my eyeballs.

The convenience/compactness was what got me interested. I like physical books as well, but am interested in how I'll react to this gadget.

I loved the Kindle in my 5 minutes with one. I wish I could afford one, but it's not on the shopping list for quite some time.
