Every year people make resolutions to do various things throughout the year. On average, it seems like pretty close to none of those things happen. This helps keep the resolution market wide open, since most of the time you can just repeat the pledge (and failure) next year ( Read more... )

Also, the self-righteous triumphalism of the initial post left me sorely tempted to stop reading. It seems to make little sense, given what the voters had to say last election day.

When you get right down to it, that sort of rhetoric doesn't generally do much for recruitment. It's great for preaching to the choir, though.

Why should we give a damn what the voters had to say? Are we to be sheep who follow the whim and ignorance of the masses? If so, then why bother having a blog?

If you don't like what he has to say, fine. But don't bandy around bullshit like calling it self-righteous. If you can't handle ideas contrary to your own, then feel free to stop reading. But don't try to blame your narrow-mindedness on others.
