So, my mom is freaking out about this whole "Jens moving to college thing." When my mother freaks out she likes to make sure EVERYTHING is prepaired for the most horrid conditions possible. Jen, I am now going to ruthlessly hit you up for information.

You may hate me. (But answer my question anyway... *grin*)

*pout* I don't want to take it, but I know that the UCs will hate me if I don't. (Specifically Santa Cruz, cause that's where I'm applying.)

Thanks for the info though!

Do you know of any one who was accepted into a UC and didn't take PreCal?

Lots of people get accepted to UCSC w/out precalc. If you have Alg 2, and decent SATs and grades you'll be fine. Honestly, UCSC is one of the eaiser UCs to get into. Some majors require you take pre-calc at UCSC, so if you want to be a psych or sociology major you'll probably have to take it in college. If you are any science major you NEED to be in calc your freshman year of college. If you want to be a english/whatever else major it really dosn't matter.
Cheeck the Princeton Review (www.review.com) for UCSCs SAT/GPA averages. As long as your a A/B students (3.3-3.7) you'll probably do fine. You need to get like a 1150 on your SATs (thats the old score, so I am not sure what it will be for the new ranges), and do ok on your SAT 2's. (I bombed my SAT 2's, and I stilll got in....)

Have fun! I hope you get in, UCSC is awsome.

JEN
