On the subject of music, my friends from Middlesborough UK known as The Hitchers (www.thehitchers.com) are on Friday @ the El Mocambo. I met them @ NXNE last summer & they put on an excellent show...if you want to check them out I'm definitely going to be there. They're like energetic British rockabilly punk; you might like it.
