yay for loving roomies! that rarely happens, even when everyone gets along.

teh spam tiem! i'm in this book club called mdsbookclub. they're having a contest for getting new memebers, AND i really wanted to invite you there anyway. just respond to the post entitled "PROMO CONTEST!" to introduce yourself in general and as my friend. we read one book every month from manymany genres, and participation every month is optional. ^_^_^_^_^

hm, that's a good question. been wondering it about myself. i surprisingly missed it this summer. it's like you're working for a common goal, even if it's not a super-important project. you get exposed to book you might not otherwise read, you get to read(!), you get to talk to other people about the books, and voting for the next genres gets exciting. oh, and you're not reprimanded if you don't finish the book on time (i like that part).

i would honestly not have considered reading Shutter Island, but it was one month's chosen book and ended up being a satisfying vacation read.
