So I decided to cover my ass and apply for Bangor (PGCE in teaching) and Bord Gais in the hope that I wouldn't end up on the dole wit nothing to do. I now have both of them, and a choice to make. I'm leaning towards staying in Dublin, but I don't like making decisions without all the info, so lists are being made and I'm going to see if I can defer ( Read more... )

most days, but then I'm in constant pain with my back sitting all the time in work, and you can't know teachers holidays, and a key reason I'm so happy here at the mo might be making its way to Bangor. And my BOrd Gais contract is only till December at the mo. and I am actually prety good at teaching, where as at the moment I apologise for a living...which I'm actually pretty good at too though, and pays just as well! and my life is here and I can do nightcourses in stuff and not be broke. ahhhh I don't know!

How soon do you need to make a decision?

By the 21st, ie thursday, or else I forfit Bangor. I think I may be able to tell them I'm waiting to hear back about a masters or something and defer the decision that way. But i'm not sure, thats what I'm spending tomorrow evening figuring out!

What do you lose if you tell them that you're going to go, but then you don't?

All the documentation they sent keeps going on about it being a professional commitment and that they start arranging school placements once you accept so you're letting down a school. Just reading through the info to see about defering decision, and they want my documents (including my degree cert which I'm not puttingin the post!) by the 20th, well thats not happening, I only got the letter on Thurs! I might ring them tomorrow tell them I want to defer as waiting to hear about a Masters or something and tell them I need to send off for my birth cert which I do.

Well call them and see what they say. I was wondering if there was a cash deposit or some such, rather than merely professional irresponsibility. :)

I called them and told them I'm waiting to hear about an MSc I applied for la la la knickers on fire!
