the first texted greeting came at 12:30 AM, october 20.  i fumbled for my cell and tried to chase the sleep away while i read the text.

it was from ian c. sending me advanced birthday greetings and iloveyous.  next was joseff's in his usual literary fashion, so tagalog and sweet.  gian, as usual, was asar and tried to hide the fact--unsuccessfully
