When Gallifrey burned, his tears burned him. They scorched his soul and being and made pain run through his heart. Their trails tracked down his face and made his whole being feel as though it was a light with flames.
All the people that had died for him, all the people he had lost and everything that had been destroyed and tears kept coming like liquid fire, but every once in a while a blessing came in the form of a happy tear…
A happy tear so cool and soothing it froze the burn and numbed it. It made the pain freeze for the briefest of seconds and it made him…human.
