i will say happy holidays if i am not sure if someone celebrates one of the others like Kwanzaa or Hannukah.

i don't understand why poeple have a problem with Christmas. OK, even non-Christians get that JEsus was born so even if they don't believe IN him, at least they know he existed. and if he hadn't been born, then they wouldn't get presents. So to non-believers i would say, "Be glad Jesus is the reason for the season, otherwise NO PRESENTS FOR YOU!!"

Hey Karen! I have some historical info for you. Some of it you might know...but I remember hearing somewhere that they had determined Jesus was born around January 6. I can't remember where I heard it from...but it was a reliable source. Also, the reason they decided December 25 to celebrate Christ's birth was to have a celebration go against a Roman-pagan festival on that same day. I have also heard that this is where the Christmas tree came and decorations came from. But my take on this is that most people don't know about it and if they do, that is not the reason they celebrate Christmas.
