I must say that this discovery that blue food dye could possibly help treat spinal injuries is simply fascinating. I hope that further research for this proves to be successful, and that the discovery does pull through ( Read more... )

But it's... food dye. How can that be used to treat anything?

It seems that blue food dye has a similar chemical make up to a lab compound that blocks nerve inflammation at a certain point, which helps with spinal cord injuries because the inflammation of the spinal cord after injury may kill multiple nerve cells! I really do find it quite intriguing how some innocuous materials can be found to be similar to noteworthy compounds!

It is, is it not? While some discoveries may not seem to amount to too much, others like this one can possibly help thousands of lives! It is all in the research and the results concluded at the end of it!

That would be a blessing if they could do that. I do believe that greater technology would probably also need to be invented for that as well.
