Heck, I'm having trouble balancing creative productivity with my "part time" day-job, much less a relationship. In fact, it was during my last relationship that my productivity took a nose-dive. The fact Lady H. lived two hours away didn't help, of course. I spent quite a bit more time in the South and away from my craft.
The Strike also meant I couldn't pursue interest I had in one project from a production company (not WGA yet, but I'd like to avoid getting Blacklisted). The fact that project still isn't ready for prime-time comes down to me, though. I used the Strike as an excuse to spend more time with the hot girl rather than an opportunity to get more work done.
In the end, it's all about Balance (or a harmonious equilibrium, if you prefer). You're a sharp guy with a smart gal. You two will make it work.
