"The Beast Within: Interview with Sanctuary's Christopher Heyerdahl"
This article was brought to my attention yesterday, but I didn't read it until today. It really helps to clear up some of my thoughts (and concerns) about John's obvious absence from this season.

After Friday's episode ("Apolyte"), I was left distressed (OKAY! I was crying - happy?). Really, the last thing that the team needs right now is Biggle going off the deep end (anyway...that will all come out in that review). And then today I read this article and find out that Druitt is dead. Not that I am completely surprised...the confirmation felt good actually.

This is the excerpt from the article where CH talks about it: "I’d like to think that Druitt has taken his growth or development on to the next level and become some kind of Doctor Manhattan-type energy creature, but perhaps that’s something for Sanctuary’s fifth season,” muses Heyerdahl. “At this point, Druitt is dead and pushing up daises if he could."

Love how CH has such a humor about it - "pushing up daisies". So, what I think. It makes sense. The last time we saw Druitt was the season 3 finale and he wasn't looking good.

Being a die-hard Magnitt shipper, you might ask me if I will continue watching this show if he is dead. My answer is, "Hell yeah!" This is not one of those shows that I watch merely to see my OTP (because I do have shows that I couldn't care less about what goes on). Sanctuary is such a great combination of things that a character dying isn't going to change that. We have survived Watson's death, Ashley's death, Ravi's death, and so far we have survived John's. (Now to be completely honest, if AT left...I would stop watching - so maybe that is a contradiction to what I just said). I am hoping that this means more Tesla. The show really does need that male character, and as much as I like Will's character....he can't fill the space.

Helen must know that he is dead, and I can't imagine how this is effecting her. At the end of Season 3, when she goes through the portal, she had to of known that John wasn't going to make it. And despite the fact that they didn't separate on good terms at the end of Season 3, I know she still cares. So, his death must be killing her. It is just her and Tesla now. But I am reminded that Amanda keeps saying (in interviews) that we won't understand what Helen is doing until the last scene of the last episode. Not that I am thinking that John is going to come back, but I can't wait to see what happens.

But CH's mention of possibilities for his character in a season 5 brings more concerns ... is there going to be a 5th season? I NEED THERE TO BE A 5TH SEASON!
