Look who's back on LJ. :P

I have reservations on Farscape mostly from screencaps I saw of the show. I was asking myself how on Earth they could mix humans with puppets... Never had a problem with aliens as long as they're played by human actors - make-up and prosthetics do the trick. But puppets?! Ew.

If you liked it though, I'm definitely intrigued. So far our opinions show-wise had been on the same wave length, so I trust you and I shall try it. (Maybe sooner that I thought even, cause I'm on strike until April 4th - but that's another story.) Maybe like you said in your last post, I'll get the Claudia Black love in fandom that I didn't understand after watching only her role in SG1.

Yes, I am finally back! For how long, I don't know. We will see how long this inspiration lasts.

I was very skeptical of the show too at first! Like I said it took me a few times to get into it, but really if you can make it through the first two eps you will be good! There are so many great things about the show that totally overpower the fact that there are puppets. I honestly did not see Rygel as a puppet...they do a great job. And I LOVE Pilot!! I think what really does it is how well the actors relate to the two puppets...that is what makes them real for the audience.

I hope you watch it because we need something to chat about!!

Farscape is definitely a role model for sci-fi shows IMO. I agree with you about the character development. And I love the fact that none of them was black or white. Good guys did bad things, and bad guys did good things when situations called for it. That's such a rare thing to see on a sf show.

Exactly! You never know who is going to do what, it really kept things interesting.

I first saw this show when my seventh grade English teacher showed us the first episode during a Science Fiction unit. (she also showed us the original Clash of the Titans) I fell in love with it, but didn't get SciFi at the time. I saw the season two premiere when USA aired it as a movie as some sort of promotion. I didn't see it again until ninth grade when we started getting SciFi (I had moved to Florida, again, and it was a few months before we started getting the channel). I came in half way through season three and luckily they had a marathon of the first half of the season so I was able to get semi caught up. I've filled in the rest from re-runs. My roommate in college loved the show, and we started a rewatch, but ending up getting to bogged down with homework. I was pissed when it got canceled, just like I ended up being when both SGs got canceled ( ... )

I didn't get into Sci-fi (really) until I stumbled upon Sanctuary between its 2nd and 3rd season (so, early 2010) then I got back into SG-1, and discovered Battlestar Galactica and finally....Farscape this year!

Why is it that all the good shows get cancelled and the stupid ones stay on FOREVER!? Farscape, Firefly, Sanctuary (cross your fingers). At least they got a movie to try and wrap things up, and I have to say that Sanctuary's season 4 finale was pretty amazing and could stand without another season, as much as I WANT/NEED a 5th season.

Communication microbes :) First episode...put it out there and move on! I love that in "A Human Reaction" they show what other people hear, who don't have the chip.

I know, all the good stuff leaves. I do have my fingers crossed on Sanctuary. It was a good stand alone finale which worries me. I'm hoping Once Upon a Time gets picked up for a season two. And just heard Terra Nova was canceled and I really liked that one.

As much as I would love another season of Once Upon A Time, I am wondering how they are going to keep it going. I started watching Terra Nova and though I found it interesting, it didn't pull me in enough to keep watching it.
