*hugs* I am so glad to be back, and no I am not surprised that you have thoughts. It is so great to be talking about this stuff again. I have been watching so many great shows and have had no one to talk to about them :(

I do love the carriage scene, but you are right, it certainly fit better in Kush. By giving us a little bit of history spread out over the seasons they were able to mix up the storylines - which helped the pace of the show.

>>I loved it when Helen told Will he was her worst nightmare. (Even though, knowing Helen as I do now, she probably hadn't known Will long enough to tell him something like that, so I'm glad they cut it.)

I know - That line was so great! Did they ever use that in the show? And you are also right about how Helen probably would not have told Will that at this time.

>> I only would have kept his need/craving for a family a bit more. I think that was the part that was missing the most.
I was thinking back to his intro in SFA and you are right (of course) that he was really only at the Sanctuary to ( ... )

I don't think they ever did use that line the show. Sad times.

You know the moment where we see John wanting a family the most? ... Out of the Blue. And I just thought about that I was typing. You'd think I've watched that episode enough times already to make the connection, but no, I only think about it now. OOTB is perfect example (albeit in an AU) of John wanting his family back. Now if only they would have kept that from the beginning!

Out of the Blue - my favorite episode! Why didn't that come to mind earlier? Wouldn't it have been so great if they had been able to get Emelie for that episode? I wonder how it would have changed the storyline. But yeah, I think there is that yearning for a family that we don't really see anywhere else. Though his concern for Ashley at the end of "Revelations" is very touching and the father in him kind of comes out.

I like to make a strong comeback :) Thanks for commenting. I like discussing things with you because we don't really have the same opinion on most things - it makes it interesting.

>> The thing that attracted me the most with the show was those beginning minutes and transision into the present time.

And this is why I have a love/hate relationship with the scene being at the beginning. It does make a great statement as to what the viewer should expect from this show. The shot is probably one of my favorites. For a webisode, they needed to grab people's attention very quickly, and I think the scene is perfect for that. But I think, after seeing how the rest of the show fits together, this scene fits better the way they did it in SFA.

>> Yes, it's her kid, but there were too many dissimilarities and they didn't seem to really be interested in having a mother-daughter relationship, not even after the events in the episodes where Tesla first appears.I would definitely agree with you here. I really wish they had taken this mother/ ( ... )

I guess I haven't actually heard anyone use the phrase "fan service moments". I see them as character development moments. Sure, it makes our little shippy hearts go crazy, but they help to move the story along - in most cases (at least in Farscape and Sanctuary. There are definitely other shows where the pairing moments do nothing other than appease the viewer). Love is just part of life, so why can't it be a part of the story rather than a "fan service moment"? I do have to say that I didn't really care for Abby or Erica, but like I said, love is a part of life, so showing our characters going about their daily lives without learning to care about someone isn't realistic. Sure, you don't have to dwell on it, but as we get to know the characters we want to see them develop.

I don't know how much sense that made - it is only 7:09am - I got little sleep last night and today is my first day back to work after 2 weeks off, so I am not really focused. Would love to hear your response to this though!!
