souji seta is one of the best friends kurt's met in death city so far. he's unbelievably accepting of kurt to the point where it boggles kurt's mind. he's not used to guys being this kind, this accepting of him outright. add this to the fact that souji seems genuinely interested in him as a person, the fact that he's unbelievably cute, and his tendency to be a great listener, and kurt's realized he has found not only someone to confide in, but also someone to crush on like nobody's business. the two have managed to open up to each other to a much greater extent recently, though there are still secrets and things hidden. kurt is determined not to let souji down or hurt him in any way, which is why he's doing his best not to act on the crush just yet. he also has a protective streak about a mile high where souji is concerned. on the maldives cruise, souji made a move and kissed kurt, though, and that changes things considerably...

dave strider is annoying, but that wasn't enough to stop kurt from wanting to try being his meister. dave's got an over-inflated ego and a coolness complex that causes kurt to give himself headaches from repeatedly rolling his eyes. his taste in music may be odd, and they may not always get along, but the jams that he and kurt created while resonating for the first time were, to borrow some of dave's phrasing, pretty sick. the two have managed to bond a little, especially after kurt's accident with vriska, but despite the fact that they both probably consider each other friends, they're not that close. maybe with time they will be. if they don't end up killing each other....

kanaya maryam is kurt's first troll friend. they share a fondness for fashion and design, and kurt appreciates that he can talk and joke and even dance with her without any attached drama. her company is, for the most part, calming and reassuring. he trusts her implicitly, though he still doesn't understand her relationship with vriska. it's possible he never will, especially given the fact that kanaya was the one who doled out justice (aka a beating) on vriska on his behalf.

tavros nitram is a troll boy with very little in the way of self-esteem, as well as a psycho bitch on his tail. so they share that last part in common, kind of. kurt really likes the kid, though, and empathizes with him a crazy amount. he wants to help him in any way he can - help him find himself, help him stay safe, anything. he also managed to save tavros's life on the maldives cruise, after vriska tried to drown him. he's only just barely starting to suspect tavros might have a crush on him, but any love he feels for tavros is strictly platonic.

yosuke hanamura is souji's best friend from home. all in all he seems like a pretty nice guy. he's got souji's best interests at heart and everything. kurt almost sort of envies him for being as close to souji as he is, though. but only a little... he's starting to see yosuke as his own friend, too, not to mention as a teacher of sorts, considering yosuke is helping him master the art of using a tanto. his feelings are a little confused, where yosuke is concerned. there's a subtle kind of attraction, there, but he doesn't expect it to go anywhere. yosuke's straight. he's said as much countless times. plus, he loves souji. it's normal to have a tiny amount of attraction to your semi-boyfriend's best friend, right?

prince is another guy who's been kind to kurt. since helping him through his tough time adjusting to death city, prince hasn't been as constant in kurt's life as, for example, souji or even kanaya, but kurt still recognizes that prince is someone he can go do if he's in trouble or needs a ear to listen. kurt is also quite impressed at prince's musical skills.

oh, john egbert. you are like the dorky, horribly dressed little brother kurt never had. you remind him of a mix between finn hudson and a rainbow with leprechaun treasure at the end of it, you're so derp and tiny and naive and horribly dressed. but seriously, kurt wants to get to know you better so he can offer to dress you without it being too creepy and out of nowhere.

rikku rigged up a charger for kurt's iphone, saving its musical contents from dying a battery-less death. he appreciated it, of course, and the two have also bonded some over fashion and hair he sees in her some definite girlfriend potential - no doubt they'll be doing each others nails in no time.

rose lalonde is currently not much more to kurt other than dave, john, and jade's friend. but she seems intelligent and agreeable, if a little too verbose at times. also, her relationship with dave amuses him.

terezi pyrope is weird. just a little weird. as far as kurt can tell, though, she seems nice enough. and she's... dave's "fairy godtroll". whatever that means... also, she and karkat are dating? kurt wonders in which quadrant. from the way they were beating up on each other in that one post, it seems like maybe they might be kismeses.

feferi peixes seems like a cutie. a little over-excited maybe but cute and nice enough to balance that out. also, she is apparently responsible for bringing lady gaga into the universe? based on some troll lady gaga or something? kurt's a bit confused over that, but hey, whatever. a fellow little monster can't be bad news.

kida masaomi gave kurt excellent advice when he arrived: just go with it. don't question things too much or it'll drive you crazy. suspend all disbelief. and for the most part, that advice has worked. some things still catch him off guard, of course, but kurt's sanity remains intact thanks largely to kida's help.

jade harley is mainly known to kurt as one of dave and john's friends, though she seems like a pretty sweet person. a little clueless about some things, maybe, but sweet. he's very tempted to offer to teach her how to not only not set fire alarms off when she cooks, but also to cook something even mildly appetizing... if possible.

shizuo heiwajima is inexplicably interested in learning more about lady gaga and theatricality. kurt is all too willing to oblige him. shizuo was the first person kurt resonated with, and it was with him that kurt realized his meister ability.

kurt doesn't know kazu's name, but he senses that he's in trouble thanks to what little info he's been able to gather on a certain sano yasuyoshi. basically, he is under the impression that kazu is being sexually assaulted/abused/harassed/whatever, and would really like to call the cops for him but strangely, kazu disagrees. it's all rather troubling.

kurt's had a few philosophical and semi-philosophical conversations with the ottoman empire, whom he calls 'mr. os'. they've also managed to bond over music. it's possible kurt might consider becoming an 'honorary citizen' but time will tell for sure.

shishito madoka seems to think he's not good at anything much, but kurt is determined to teach him that he can be halfway decent at something, at least. the task he has been given is to teach shishito to dance, of all things. should be easy enough, assuming shishito doesn't woe-is-me over every mis-step.

france is one of kurt's favorite countries - his food, his fashion, and his language all call to kurt. the two actually work together and have bonded many times over fashion, and kurt goes to him before anyone else for fashion advice on the rare occasion he needs it.

saralegui and kurt have had a few conversations comparing the differences between their two worlds in regards to sexuality and politics, some pretty heavy topics that have kurt curious about him. sara's even gone so far to challenge kurt to figure out who the demon king from his world actually is, and if kurt manages to guess correctly he'll earn a favor from sara. hmmm, this could get interesting.

it's joan of arc. the actual joan of arc. and she's actually getting along with kurt, who would have thought? occasionally the two speak in french together, or bond over music. it's the actual joan of arc, did i mention that? wow. kurt's still sort of stuck on that, to be honest.

karkat vantas is loud, tough, and swears way too much, but kurt has to admit he's not stupid. from what he can tell, he's a pretty good leader to the rest of the trolls, and he respects him for that. just respects, though. that's all as of right now.

kurapika stole kurt's iphone in the stupid epic-retarded watch exercise. kurt was not pleased, but realizes kurapika was only taking orders and wouldn't have done it otherwise. plus, the note he left saying he was just borrowing it was nice, he supposes. the one conversation he's had with kurapika since the incident went decently, too, so maybe there's hope for forgiveness.

roy mustang annoys kurt. maybe it's not wise to dislike and distrust the head of the death city watch, but this is the guy who thought it was okay to have his people STEAL THINGS from innocent people in a training exercise. he thinks mustang is a bit of a moron for that alone. his opinion of him has been improved somewhat recently, though. he allowed kurt a weapon to carry about his person, and also successfully aprehended vriska after what she did to him. the fact that that took several days to manage does bug him, though.

sano, also apparently called aeon, is a grade a, fda approved, usda inspected, certified organic SHITTY PERVERT DOUCHEBAG. kurt gets angry thinking about him, sick when he sees him, and just generally wants him to rot in jail for what he thinks sano's done to kazu. unfortunately, it looks like the two of them will be interacting more thanks to kurt's new battle musical.

vriska serket hunted kurt down and and stomped on his throat. so yeah. he kind of hates her and is a little scared of her, too. she's a super huge bitch, as far as he's concerned. kurt is not a violent person or anything, but if given a good chance at revenge... he might try to take it, and did in fact take it to some extent when he saw her throw tavros overboard on the maldives cruise. before jumping in to save his friend from drowning, he kind of... kicked her across the deck. yeah... it felt good, too.
