Note to self...

When turning on the air conditioner for the first time this season, do remember to also set the furnace thermostat for a [substantially] lower setting than the AC.

Things definitely work better that way.

Just saying....

Unfortunately, it was "M" who made me aware of the fact that the baseboards in our bedroom were producing heat and asked, "Why?"
It was roughly 22C inside and about 31C outside at the time.

experiences like this often go unrecorded in my house. AFTER I shut the windows while the heater is on.

"you still alive out there, stranger"

Yes, inquiring minds want to know. And happy birthday!

I am indeed - living in the wilds of Northwestern, NJ.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.

[It actually is fairly wild - much of my town is federal and state parkland - wooded, hawks daily, deer frequently, the bears are waking up - and getting into trash.]

I'm not posting here currently because LJ is owned by a Russian entity. I have multiple personal opinions about the whole situation - not choosing to discuss them at all - just better to tarry elsewhere. [I have an "X" account.]

I've retired - that doesn't mean I've stopped working - I'm a homeowner - I just don't get a paycheck for doing things, but generally can set my own hours.

[Generally does not include spousal notification of a small puddle of water under the refrigerator this past weekend. No plumbing problems occur on weekdays, or while the orange or blue guys are open. That's a rule somewhere.]

Messages or comments left here will reach me and my a/c here is "permanent."
