[In the elementary school music room after school has let out there are two men standing by the piano. If you care to approach, they seem to be working on a complicated musical composition. Salieri is seated at the small upright piano and Fritz is standing next to him taking notes on sheet music. Blue is Fritz, brown is Salieri]

[absorbed in the discussion, he doesn't even notice that they have an audience.]

But don't you think that string instruments have too light a sound for someone like Grady?

[You know, for someone that fat?]

Yes, but the cello also has a certain... fullness to it, wouldn't you agree?

[Since they aren't taking any notice of her, she walks into the room, silently and without a word. Because she is a creeper like that.]

[Why is Cynric in the elementary school today? Well that high school can get so boring sometimes! His attention span is pretty bad, and to break up the monotony he decides to see what's up over here today. Disappointed to find out the elementary doesn't have a shop studio like the high school does, he heads off to see what their music room has to offer - which is apparently two men working at the piano. This sounds like interesting stuff.]

Oh! More musicians?

[Turns at the sound, surprised. Not whole lot of people come to the elementary school music room. The high school one is better stocked.]

Hello. Are you a musician yourself?

"Ah, Mr. Cynric, was it? Please, do come in."

[Gestures to Fritz.]

"Allow me to introduce my fellow musician, Frederick II, the King of Prussia."

[He breaks out into a huge grin when the two are introduced. FANBOY MODE ON.]

[Doesn't even notice]

Well, alright, we'll table the discussion of instruments and move on to language. It should be in French obviously. It is the most artistic language after all.

I've written a number of operas in French, but I believe we should also consider the merits of the Italian language as far as theatrical productions are concerned. It does have a certain melodic quality, after all.

[omg Fritz, you are his favourite person ever.] Non, French is definitely better!

[Guess who else happens to be a Composer? Not in the sense that these two are, of course, but Joshua does have a love for classical music and writing his own compositions. So when he hears the piano, he automatically drifts towards the room they're in, listening in on their conversation.]

Personally, I've always pegged Grady as a bass trombone, or perhaps a tuba - loud and full of air.

[Fritz chuckles. He could almost agree.]

True, but we don't want to loose the sinister quality of the character. Brass instruments would be too harsh, I think...

Hmm, yes, I'm inclined to agree. Brass is slightly too loud for the effect we're going for here.

Percussion, then? The cello's more suited for the Mayor or perhaps the Milkman, I think - sinister but subtle. With Grady, one needs something attention-catching. [Beat.] And drums would be able to imitate the sound of his footsteps perfectly.

[just continuing the discussion...]

And what instrument for the Mayor then? He needs to be far more sinister than Grady....

Ah, perhaps the cello for him, then?
