I started this blog a few days before my 29th birthday, when I was just on the verge of feeling like a real author, and so excited about the publication of my first book - at that point, still two years away.

About a year and a half ago, I received a distressed call from my dad. Seems he’d been reading my blog, and he was saddened by the number of “dad” tags there were on blog entries. The fewer the tags, the smaller his name in the tag cloud. My friend Arielle was killing him with her twenty-something entries; her name more than twice the size of his.

Last Monday, I had the BEST time visiting Ms. C’s second grade book club in NYC.

I used to think of the Javits Center as the dark and scary place where I took the New York State Bar Exam, in a room not unlike an airplane hangar.

But now I think of it, happily, as the site of Book Expo America, where I get to catch with author friends from out of town, score much-coveted ARCs, and hang out with writers all week long.

I did spend about an hour and a half on Monday morning at the world famous Jacques Torres Chocolate flagship store in New York City. There was a camera crew there - to record ME saying a bit about the STELLA BATTS series.

Just got back from an AMAZING week in Chicago, where I attended the International Reading Association conference for the first time. My friends Leslie Margolis and Siobhan Vivian were also there, and it was wonderful to see them both-since neither of them live in NYC, I don’t to do that nearly enough.
