*not long after Lana lines up, newbie defense attorney Calisto Yew enters the cafeteria. As soon as she spots the detective, she strides up to join her in line, her heels clicking loudly enough that her presence is made known...but she makes it a point not to greet the older woman. She casually checks her make-up in her compact mirror*

*mercifully for Lana, pleasant company arrives. Jake shows up from behind her and gives them both a friendly nod*

Good afternoon. ...I didn't realize you were in court today as well.

*she's in the middle of eating so she can't respond, but she sees Lana's reaction...and makes careful observations*

*friendly, but about as friendly as he is to everyone else; they haven't crossed paths too often*

Wouldn't miss the trial today for the world! My baby brother's steppin' up to the stage.

...And I was just telling Miss Skye my client and I don't stand a chance. She didn't seem to agree though.

*genuinely startled-- had seemingly forgotten Yew was still there. She clears her throat*

My disagreement with you was in regards to how lukewarm you seem to be in regard to your advocacy.

Ahaha! Have you even seen Prosecutor Marshall in court? If you did, you'd understand my position.

I make it a point to get myself acquainted with all the lovely women fightin' for the law. *smiles at Lana*
