Black Hole of Email?

So, I have to believe there is this 'black hole' out there that every so often my emails from my home account go to. I send out a message and months can go by.... and I hear nothing in response. And it seems to go in patterns.... everything moves along fine for a few months and then I have a week where I reach out and the response... well... there

Perhaps not a black hole, but some other glitch in the space/time continuum that causes delayed response time? :)
