it's because my bro's company's Christmas party requires them all to come in costume. they support our endeavors, but i don't think they're really that into anime, like the time I was ranting about my China cosplay and Mommy said "Why not go as a Muslim princess instead? You can be Urduja!" and I gave her the worst wtf look I've ever mustered in my life /rant
