Speed Racer has died.

I am in tears today over a man that I only got to meet once, and another whom I never got to meet (in spite of recommending him as a guest for Otakon forever), but who were very important to me when I was a child

He was a joy to have at Zenkaikon, too. And we're all very sad about it. I know Corinne must be devastated as well.

Although I was watching a DC station instead of Philadelphia, I clearly remember my obsession with Speed Racer - The mystery surrounding Racer X fueled my daydreams for many a pleasant hour.

And even at that age, I did think Speed had a very sexy voice.

Mr. Fernandez's voice will live on in his work, and in our memories.

I remember working a panel that he attended that year and just being in awe talking to him.
