Thanks, Shay! And thanks to Sith for throwing a life preserver to my drowning story and posting it correctly. I now know what the "challenge" part means.
And thanks to Di, I've edited the story in my own LJ so that it doesn't take up so much space on the "friends" page.
It didn't occur to me that this plot was a nod to Shakespeare. Must have been subliminal. :)
When I saw your icon some time ago I assumed it was a photo manip. I now know (from careful examination of "Sol Madrid") that it is not. Clothes don't make a man, do they?
Odd how selective the memory is. I loved that last line.
Now I´m sitting here with a stupid and delighted grin on my face. And as it´s past midnight over here I´ll take this grin to bed and have very happy dreams. Thank you so much!
I loved the last line, too, about selective memory. It was delightful that Illya's memory was not really impaired--he explained to Napoleon exactly what happened to him--no worries or apologies. Not his fault. At the same time I was so worried when Mark Slate showed up before Napoleon. Perish the thought! God forbid Illya would have seen him first. I assume if that happened his memory would have been selective as well, as in not hypnotized.
