Same time, same place, same stuff. Pretty much could have written this... except for being on my game in late 2001. The company failing, 9/11, and sitting in this dang apartment listening to NPR all day talking about anthrax...? Not good.

Recently read his piece on software pricing, "Camels and Rubber Duckies". First thing I'd seen that actually made that stuff look comprehensible.

Steven and I attended one of Greenspun's (free) seminars in the Bay Area before we moved up here. The energy was as much fun as Spolsky describes. We read "Philip and Alex's Guide to Web Publishing" and saw Alex at the event.

Fast-forward to 2009. I just went through some boxes in the garage and tossed some of my files from my clients in the early 2000s. Most are now downsized or gone. Whew! Who woulda thought?
